Understanding Hospice Care at Superior Hospice

Our Mission at Superior Hospice is to provide high-quality, compassionate support that focuses on physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort to those needing end-of-life care.

What is Hospice Care?

Hospice care is specialized support for individuals with terminal illnesses, focusing on comfort, pain relief, and emotional well-being rather than curative treatments. It encompasses medical, emotional, and spiritual support tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes.

Coverage and Costs

Hospice services are typically covered 100% by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. This coverage includes:

Medical & Nursing Care

Regular visits from healthcare professionals to manage symptoms and provide medical support.

Medications related to the terminal diagnosis and symptom management.

Items like hospital beds, wheelchairs, oxygen, and necessary medical supplies.

Assistance with daily activities such as bathing and dressing.

Physical, occupational, and speech therapies as needed.

* Therapy services may be included when they support the patient’s goals for comfort, safety, or quality of life—not curative treatment.

Counseling and spiritual care tailored to the patient’s beliefs and preferences.

Grief counseling and support for families after a loved one’s passing.

For those not eligible under traditional insurance, our Superior Care+ Program, a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) foundation, offers scholarships to ensure no one is denied care due to financial constraints.
